 - Purchase of all 322339 metric tons of wheat reached in the district markets so far

Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that the procurement of wheat in the district is almost at its final stage. He said that till last evening 322339 metric tons of wheat had arrived in the district and all the wheat has been purchased. She said that the purchase so far is 51757 metric tons more than last year 270582 metric tons of wheat was purchased till this day.

The Deputy Commissioner said that 266174 metric tons of wheat have been lifted from the markets of the district so far, which is 85 percent in terms of 72 hours. She said that till now 90797 metric tons of wheat has been purchased by Pangrain. Similarly, 77554 metric tons of wheat has been purchased by Markfed, 76292 by Pansap, 45672 by Punjab State Warehouse Corporation, 25282 by FCI and 6742 metric tons by traders.

The Deputy Commissioner said that on the instructions of the Punjab government, it is being ensured to buy one grain of wheat in the district markets. She appealed to the farmers to save the environment from pollution by not burning wheat waste and straw.
