         The Punjab Government is constantly striving to pass on the rich heritage of Punjab to the next generations. Under this series, the ancient and historical mela "Chinjh Chharahan Di" held for four consecutive days every year from the first Sunday of the month of Maghar at the village of Achalpur Majari in the semi-mountainous area of Beet under the Garhshankar

The Punjab government has given approval to declare this mela as a heritage mela to preserve it as a common heritage sign. In this regard, a letter has been issued by the Director Cultural Affairs, Archeology and Museum Department, Chandigarh. Thanking Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Deputy Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Jai Krishan Singh Rouri while releasing a copy of the letter, said that this has fulfilled the long-standing demand of the people of the former region. This mela of the neighboring area is centuries old in which people from all walks of life participate. "Chinjh Chharahaan Di" written by renowned writer Amrik Singh Dayal in Class VIII Punjabi textbook published by Punjab School Education Board is being taught as part of the syllabus in schools and centralized Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas across Punjab for the past decade.hatties have been adorning this mela from as far as Lahore before partition.
