 District Legal Services Authority meeting with panel advocates, mediators and para-legal volunteers

District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman District Legal Services Authority Dilbagh Singh Johal, CJM-cum-Secretary District Legal Services Authority Hoshiarpur Aparajita Joshi held a meeting with panel advocates, mediators and para-legal volunteers at District Legal Services Authority Hoshiarpur. During the meeting, the panel advocates were informed about the Legal Aid Defense Consul System 2022 and it was told that in this legal aid criminal cases will be pursued by the Chief, Deputy-Chief and Assistant Advocate. Legal Aid Defense Council offices are being set up in all the districts of the State, similarly at the new District Sessions Court Complex, Hoshiarpur for a short period of time. Difficulties faced by panel advocates in pursuing cases were also heard. After hearing the difficulties, the coordinator of the front office was directed to take further action and in compliance with the order of the Hon'ble Supreme Court, the panel advocates were asked to secure the bail of the jailed prisoners. Also a meeting was held with Mediation and Conciliation Center Hoshiarpur Mediator Advocate Kuldeep Walli, Lokesh Puri, VK Prashar, Rohit Sharma. On this occasion, mediation cases were discussed and it was said that maximum number of cases should be settled. Apart from this, the District Level and Sub-Divisional Legal Services Committee held a meeting with Dasuha Mukerian and Para Legal Volunteers of Garhshankar. The Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, in view of the floods, ordered to provide assistance to the para-legal volunteers to provide free legal services to the flood victims and to convey their problems to the administration.
