Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairperson, District Red Cross Society, Komal Mittal said that while many social welfare schemes are being run by the District Red Cross Society to help the needy, disabled persons, vocational training centers are also being run for the students. 

The Deputy Commissioner said that vocational courses like Beauty Parlour, Fashion Designing, English-Punjabi Typing, Punjabi Short Hand and Computer are being conducted by the District Red Cross Society, in which the student can stand on his own feet by enrolling. She told that the last date for admission in these courses is July 31, 2023 and interested candidates can inquire personally from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm at the Red Cross office, Civil Line Hoshiarpur.    Komal Mittal said that the main objective of these vocational courses is to promote quality education. She informed that the minimum qualification for these courses is 10th, 12th pass and these courses are of 6 months or 1 year duration as per the latest syllabus. She said that keeping in mind the demand of the industry, students are given theoretical and practical knowledge by using new techniques. She told that after the completion of this course, employment and self-employment opportunities will also be provided to the students.
