Cabinet Minister Punjab Bram Shankar Jimpa said that to enhance the beauty of the city, two national flags of 101 feet height will be installed at a cost of about Rs 21 lakh. He said that it has been started today on Kargil Vijay Diwas with Bhoomi Pujan at the place where the national flag will be installed at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk. He said that before August 15, a 101 feet high national flag tricolor would be installed at this place. Mayor Surinder Kumar was also present with him on this occasion.

The cabinet minister said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is making all-out efforts to make Punjab the dream of the martyrs. He said that to keep the memory of the martyrs fresh, the national flag tricolor is being installed here so that our future generations can be informed about the thoughts and sacrifices of the martyrs.

The cabinet minister said that before hoisting the tricolor here, the net of electric wires passing from above has been removed. He said that while paying obeisance at the statue of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh there used to be a problem because the electric wires used to pass right above and there was always a fear of accident. He said that ever since this Chowk was built, this problem of wiring was coming.
