Deputy Speaker Punjab Legislative Assembly Jai Krishan Singh Rouri said that an amount of about Rs 1.5 crore has been released by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for development works in Mahilpur. He said that out of the said amount, two new tube wells would be installed soon in Mahilpur Nagar Panchayat at a cost of Rs 58.71 lakh so that the problem of drinking water of the people could be solved. He said that apart from this, construction of different lanes is also being done in Nagar Panchayat at a cost of about Rs 90 lakh. He said that tenders have been floated for both the works. He was addressing the meeting of officers of different departments at Panchayat Samiti Rest House today. During this, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rahul Chaba and SDM Garhshankar Jashanpreet Kaur Gill were also present with him.

The Deputy Speaker said that his first priority is to provide drinking water and other basic facilities to the people of Mahilpur, in which he has given instructions to the Nagar Panchayat and concerned officials. During this he visited Mahilpur tehsil, BDPO office, service center etc. and also listened to the problems of the people. He assured the people that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was providing all necessary facilities to the common people without any hassle. During this, he instructed the officers to ensure that every necessary facility is provided to the general public in a smooth manner.

During this, Jai Krishan Singh Rouri visited different places of Mahilpur and also gave instructions to the Executive Officer of Nagar Panchayat to improve the cleanliness system in Mahilpur, improve the condition of public toilets, smooth operation of street lights. He said that there will be no shortage of funds from the development side in Mahilpur and all-round development of Mahilpur will be done. He said that he would continuously review the public facilities being provided in Mahilpur so that maximum facilities could be provided to the people. Councilors of Mahilpur Nagar Panchayats and officials of other departments were also present on the occasion.
