-A three-month sewing course was started for women prisoners-

Following the orders of District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman District Legal Services Authority Dilbagh Singh Johal, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary District Legal Services Authority Aparajita Joshi visited Central Jail Hoshiarpur. During this visit, the problems of the deportees and prisoners were heard and information was taken about their health. Apart from this, the prison registers were checked.

Similarly, the women prisoners in the Central Jail.N.G. O Carmelite Social Services with the support of Mount Carmel Ashram, Kakon Hoshiarpur started a three-month sewing course and under this, sewing machines were also provided to the women. He said that with this course, women can stand on their own feet after coming out of jail. Apart from this, the Secretary District Legal Services Authority directed the Jail Superintendent to take care of the cleanliness of the jail, that rainwater should not be allowed to collect and that medicine should be sprayed to protect against mosquito-borne diseases and the spreading eye virus. In order to protect the prisoners from time to time eye examination should be done and medicines should be provided. Along with this, he also gave information about the National Lok Adalat to be held on 9 September 2023 at District Courts Hoshiarpur.
