 People can avail 10 percent discount by depositing property tax by 30th September: Deputy Commissioner

Deputy Commissioner-cum-Commissioner Municipal Corporation Komal Mittal said that those who deposit their due property tax by September 30, 2023, will be given a 10 percent discount on the due property tax of the current financial year by the government. She said that the government has announced that in view of the public's enthusiasm to avail this discount, the Municipal Corporation will open cash counters on Saturday and Sunday on 16, 17, 23, 24 and 30 September 2023. These have been specially kept open for convenience.

Commissioner Municipal Corporation appealed to the general public to avail the golden benefit of 10 percent exemption from tax by depositing the property tax by 30th September. She said that no exemption will be given to the person depositing tax from September 30 to December 31. She said that from January 1, 2024 to March 31, 2024, tax will be collected at the rate of 10 percent penalty and from those who deposit tax after March 31, 2024, tax will be collected at the rate of 20 percent penalty and 18 percent interest.

Komal Mittal specifically told that any person can deposit his property tax by visiting the corporation's website https:mseva.lgpunjab.gov.in/. While depositing your tax at the cash counter in Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur, check the UID posted outside your house/shop. It is mandatory to bring a copy of the number plate information.
