 Approval was given to set up a biogas plant at a cost of 50 lakh rupees in the village of Chandpur Rurkee

        Under Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) Phase-2, Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa held a special meeting with the committee members at the district administrative complex regarding the construction of a biogas plant at Non-Government Sri Gobind Godham Gaushala at village Chandpur Rurkee.

        Deputy Commissioner said that approval has been given to the District Water Sanitation Mission for setting up a biogas plant in the non-governmental Shri Gobind Godham Gaushala at village Chandpur Rurkee. He said that setting up this plant will cost 50 lakh rupees. During the meeting, signatures were obtained from group committee mentors for approval. All the members present during the meeting expressed their agreement regarding the said work.

        Deputy Director Animal Husbandry Department Chandra Pal Singh told the Deputy Commissioner that under this scheme, a committee was formed to inspect the Govardhan Biogas Plant built earlier at village Chandpur Roorkee Tehsil Balachore and the committee will inspect the said biogas plants. Later it was found that these biogas plants have been constructed with iron domes/old structures for the last 10 to 11 years, through which gas has not been produced for the last 10 to 11 months because the domes have got holes due to rust and the committee has submitted its report. They have been declared junk.

     On this occasion, Punjab Good Governance Fellow Sanjana Saxena, Executive Engineer Sukhwinder Mahi, Sub Divisional Engineer Hardeep Singh, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Apart from Balveer Kumar, Jaspreet Singh from PEDA, officials from other departments were also present.
