 Complete ban on hate speech and exhibition of weapons

District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Komal Mittal has issued orders in  used of the powers conferred under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Act No. 2 of 1974) that any person/social or religious organization in public gatherings, places of worship , should not make hate speech or use slang language against any community at wedding parties or other events. In case of doing so, legal action will be taken against the concerned/violating person.

The District Magistrate through another order has issued orders that no person shall carry arms in public gatherings, places of worship, parties, marriages or other functions in Hoshiarpur district and there shall be complete ban on public/social media display of arms and Songs glorifying weapons 

These orders will remain in force till January 8, 2024.
