 Deputy Speaker Rouri flags off bus from Garhshankar under 'Chief Minister Tirtha Yatra Scheme'

- An AC Volvo bus of devotees was sent from Garhshankar for the darshan of Shri Salasar Dham and Shri Khattu Shyam Ji.

Under the 'Chief Minister Tirtha Yatra Scheme' launched by the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, today Deputy Speaker Punjab Legislative Assembly Jai Krishan Singh Rouri visited the places of pilgrimage to Shri Salasar Dham and Shri Khattu Shyam Ji. The bus was flagged off.

On the occasion of flagging off the bus of devotees from Garhshankar for the pilgrimage to Shri Salasar Dham and Shri Khattu Shyam, Deputy Speaker Shri Rouri said that with the launch of this scheme, the people of Punjab will get the opportunity to visit different pilgrimage places across the country. The travel facility is available free of cost. He said that the Punjab Government will bear the expenses of the passengers traveling under this scheme, which includes all the expenses of their travel, accommodation and food. He said that undertaking religious pilgrimage will also strengthen people spiritually.

Deputy Speaker said that under this scheme, travel will be organized to the holy places Sri Hazur Sahib (Nanded), Takht Sri Patna Sahib (Bihar), Varanasi, Ayodhya and Vrindana (Uttar Pradesh), Sri Ajmer Sharif (Rajasthan). Apart from this, trips to places like Sri Anandpur Sahib, Sri Amritsar Sahib, Sri Salasar Dham, Sri Khattu Shyam Ji, Mata Chintpurni Ji, Mata Vaishno Devi Ji, Mata Jwala Ji etc. will be organized. He said that to visit these pilgrimage places, arrangements have been made for daily buses and trains from different places of Punjab.

While congratulating the pilgrims, Jai Krishan Singh Rouri said that the state government has made arrangements for two types of means to go on this pilgrimage. He said that the mode of travel for long distance religious places will be by train and for short distance the mode of travel will be by road through AC buses. He said that the Chief Minister Teerth Yatra Scheme is proving to be a boon for the people who are deprived of visiting major religious places of Punjab and India due to old age and financial constraints. He said that a budget of Rs 40 crore has been kept for this special scheme of the state government during the financial year 2023-24.

On this occasion, GM Punjab Roadways Hoshiarpur Depot Jasbir Singh, Dr. Jang Bahadur, Charanjit Singh Channi OSD, Harjinder Singh Dhanjal, Gurbhag Singh Khuralgarh, Paramjit Singh, Tarun Arora and other dignitaries were also present.
