 Inauguration of training camp under Aapda Mitra Scheme in SBS Nagar

The inauguration ceremony took place under the leadership of Course Director Prof. Dr. Jog Singh Bhatia.

To provide relief during any kind of natural or man made disaster in the country, Government of India, N.D.M.A, S.D.M.A, D.D.M.A SBS Nagar and Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration, Chandigarh started Aapda Mitra Scheme.

Under this scheme, one lakh completely healthy volunteers in 350 districts of India are being trained for rescue operations during disasters. Each trained community volunteer will be provided with a personal safety emergency action kit as well as group insurance covering life and medical facilities. Under this scheme, a 12-day training camp was started few days ago in SBS Nagar, Punjab under the leadership of

Course Director Prof.  Dr. Jog Singh Bhatia (Senior Consultant, MGSIPA) in which 200 volunteers from the district are being trained by experienced trainers from across the country. Today this training camp was inaugurated by IAS Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa ji (Deputy Commissioner SBS Nagar) and he encouraged the volunteers to be ready to face any challenge. On this occasion Prof. Bhatia ji said that our 100 rupees spent today can save 1 crore tomorrow and he said that this training is being given on international standard and he instructed all the trainers to conduct this training as per international standard. On this occasion, Dr. Sandeep Singh Kauda (Chancellor Lamrin Tech Skills University), Mr. Rajeev Kumar Verma (ADC SBS Nagar), Ashita Gupta (SDM SBS Nagar), Mr. Praveen Chibber (Tehsildar), Mr. Amarpreet Kumar (Naib Tehsildar), Mr. Satbir Singh Bajwa (Joint Registrar) was present and Shruti Aggarwal (Consultant), Yogesh Uniyal, Sunil Jaryal, Gulshan Hira, Harkirat Singh, Amanpreet Kaur, Yogesh Sharma, Stanzin Sela, Kumari Noornisha, Shubham Verma, Sachin Sharma and Anshuman were present in this training camp as the trainers of the Aapda Mitra scheme who will provide training to the volunteers.
