 JITK won two gold medals, four silver and three bronze medals

Trainees of Jagmohan's Institute of Traditional Karate (JITK) performed exceptionally well in the Panjab University

 Inter College Karate Championship and won two gold medals, four silver and three bronze medals. According to  Neeti Jagmohan Vij, Chairperson of Jagmohan's institute are being trained by internationally renowned Karate instructor Sensei Jagmohan Vij, Who himself is Certified Judge A of world Karate federation and senior most certified Karate coach of Punjab by National federation of Karate, Karate India organisation ( KIO). It is worth mentioning that KIO is only recognised national body of sports Karate in India which is duly affiliated with World Karate federation and Asian Karate Federation ( AKF). On reaching Hoshiarpur, these winning players were honoured today.

The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Arvind Vir Singh Gill.  While appreciating the excellent performance of the karate players, he appreciated the tireless efforts made by the karate coach Jagmohan Vij to connect the younger generation with this sport.

 Among these athletes, Aarti Kumari of DAV College Hoshiarpur led her college by winning one gold and one bronze medal, while

 Aaditya Bakshi, an LLB student at Sarva Nand Giri Regional Centre of Panjab University won two silver medals in the Kata and Kumite competitions.  Divyanshi Joshi, another student of Jagmohan's Institute representing Government College, Hoshiarpur, won gold and silver medals respectively in both

Kata and Kumite competitions.  Manisha Kumari of Government College Hoshiarpur gave commendable performance and 

won the silver medal in girls under 50 kg weight category.

Om Silhi of SD College, Hoshiarpur won silver medal in the shiai kumite competition;  While Rajat Kumar of the same college made his presence felt in the semi-finals by winning the under 84 kg weight category and won the bronze medal.  Addressing the players and parents at the felicitation ceremony, Dr. Arvind expressed the hope that these players will improve their performance in the upcoming competitions and by winning gold medals, they will shine the name of their parents and district Hoshiarpur at the national and international level.

   Dr. Parul,  Neeti Jagmohan Vij, Arun Kumar Sharma, Jyoti Kaushal, Arti Kalia, Preeti Sehgal and Shanti Sharma were specially present on this occasion.
