 Seminar organized on World AIDS Day in Rayat Bahra Engineering College

- Dr. Sukhmeet Bedi made students aware about AIDS

On World AIDS Day, a seminar was organized at Rayat Bahra Engineering College to make students aware about AIDS, in which students of the first semester of the engineering college participated. On this occasion, Dr. Sukhmeet Bedi, Medical Officer of Rayat Bahra Group, while addressing the students, said that the use of infected needles is also responsible for spreading the HIV virus, in which drug users are the most prevalent. Apart from this, HIV also spreads through infected blood when injected with an infected needle. Dr. Sukhmeet told that according to a study, 85 percent of the people suffering from HIV have become victims of this disease due to irregular sexual relations. He told that the most important thing is that just as no cure for coronavirus has been found yet, similarly there is no cure for HIV virus also. Only the pressure of this virus can be reduced. On this occasion, Red Ribbon Nodal Officer Dr. Jyotsna said that AIDS disease is one of the biggest threats to mankind. The only way to avoid this is to prevent HIV. The co-ordinator of this seminar was Prof. Taranpreet Kaur. On this occasion, apart from dr. Gaurav parshar, Prof. Brijesh, in-charges and staff of the departments were present.
