District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal has issued various restraining orders in the district using the powers conferred under Section 144 of the Penal Code, 1973. In these orders, no person will use any kind of weapon in all the marriage palaces of the district. The owners of the marriage palace will ensure that no one uses a weapon during the event in the marriage palace. These orders will not apply to army personnel, paramilitary forces, police personnel who have been given the right to keep arms.

              Further, according to the orders issued by the District Magistrate, no person or Panchayat or Nagar Council or Nagar Panchayat in rural and urban areas of District Hoshiarpur shall fill the ponds without the prior written approval of the concerned Sub Divisional Magistrate.

Another order has banned the use of army uniforms and olive green (military colour) jeeps, motor cycles, motor vehicles within the district limits. This order will not apply to military officers.

     The District Magistrate banned any kind of procession, assembly of five or more persons, shouting slogans, carrying sticks, unlicensed weapons, sharp weapons etc. within the district limits without the permission of the Sub Divisional Magistrate. has given These orders will not apply to government functions, conferences and meetings etc. SDM concerned to conduct rally/meeting by any political party. Written approval is also required. These orders will not apply to Punjab Police, Home Guards, other employees on official duty and weddings, funerals or official functions/meetings.

The District Magistrate has also banned illegal boring in the streets/roads in all the villages of the district by issuing another order.

    District Magistrate Komal Mittal has also banned unauthorized storage, transportation, use or sale of ceman in Hoshiarpur district. The ban applies to all veterinary institutions including Animal Husbandry Department, Punjab Veterinary Hospitals/Dispensaries and Polyclinics, Artificial Insemination Centers run by Animal Husbandry Department Punjab, Milkfed and College of Veterinary Science, Gadvasu Ludhiana. . Processing and use of bovine semen supplied or imported by the Department, Punjab shall not apply to members of Progressive Dairy Farms Association, Punjab who have imported bovine semen only for the use of their cattle.

District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Komal Mittal in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Act No. 2 of 1974) has ordered that any person/social or religious organization in public gatherings, Hate speech or abusive language against any community should not be used at religious places, wedding parties or other functions. In case of doing so, legal action will be taken against the concerned person/violator.

All the said orders will remain in force till March 8, 2024.
