 Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hoshiarpur organizes training camp on subsidiary occupations

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bahowal, Hoshiarpur in collaboration with Department of Microbiology, PAU, Ludhiana organized a training camp on subsidiary occupations in village Rampur Sainian, block Mahilpur on 6-2-2024.

At the outset, Dr. Parminder Singh, Associate Professor (Animal Science), KVK, Hoshiarpur welcomed the farmers & farmwomen and discussed about the activities of KVK for the welfare of farming community & the purpose of this camp. He also briefed the participants regarding seasonal management of dairy animals.

Dr. Ajaib Singh, Assistant Profesor (Agricultural Engineering), KVK, Hoshiarpur shared important tips regarding quality gur shakkar production.

Dr. Shivani Sharma, Mycologist (Mushrooms), Department of Microbiology, PAU, Ludhiana discussed in detail about the cultivation of different types of mushrooms and gave practical training on preparation of compost.

Dr. Prabhjot Kaur, Assistant Professor (Plant Protection), KVK, Hoshiarpur shed light on different aspects of beekeeping.

On this occasion, progressive farmers and farmwomen of the village Rampur Sainian- Sh. Jarnail Singh, Sh. Taranjit Singh, Sh. Jaswinder Singh, Sh. Dalvir Singh, Sh. Jagjit Singh, Sh. Balbir Singh, Smt. Jaspreet Kaur, Smt. Rajinder Kaur and Smt. Jasbir Kaur were present.

The participating farm families were also provided dhingri mushroom spawn for home use.
