 Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hoshiarpur organizes field day on gobhi sarson

 Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bahowal, Hoshiarpur under the aegis of Directorate of Extension Education, PAU, Ludhiana and ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana, organized a field day on gobhi sarson cultivation in village Khanpur on 14-2-2024 for showcasing the performance of cluster frontline demonstrations and for further promotion of canola gobhi sarson cultivation in the area.

Dr. Maninder Singh Bons, Associate Director (Training), KVK Hoshiarpur while interacting with ther farmers, deliberated on the purpose of these demonstrations, canola cultivar of gobhi sarson, GSC 7 and discussed about its cultivation practices, pest management, oil extraction and health benefits of canola oil. He also sensitized the farmers about the management strategies for yellow rust disease of wheat.

Experts from KVK Hoshiarpur delivered technical lectures during this programme. Dr. Ajaib Singh, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering), motivated the farmers to adopt value addition and processing of agricultural produce in cooperative mode to maximize benefits from farming. Dr. Karmvir Singh Garcha Assistant Professor (Vegetable Science) discussed about integrated nutrition gardening and mushroom cultivation.

On this occasion summer vegetable kits and literature were also provided to the farmers.

In the end, S. Jaspal Singh, progressive farmer of the village, thanked all the experts for delivering informative lectures and farmers for participating attentively to the proceedings of the field day.
