Under the instructions of the Ld. District and Sessions Judge cum Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Hoshiarpur Mr. Dilbagh Singh Johal, today Ms. Aprajita Joshi CJM cum Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Hoshiarpur presided over the inaugural meeting of Panel Advocates for District Courts Hoshiarpur who have been empanelled for a term of 3 years i.e. from January 2024 till January 2027. A training program was also organised for them at the New District and Sessions Court complex, Hoshiarpur to impart training to the Panel Advocates for rendering competent and quality legal services , spreading legal literacy effectively , providing court based legal services and advising clients at the front office, attending legal services camps , performing all tasks entrusted to them, working fearlessly for upholding the interests of their clients , communicating with them in a timely manner . The Panel Advocates are empanelled by the Selection Committee of the District Legal Services Authority which is headed by the District and Sessions judge cum Chairman District Legal Services Authority to provide legal advice to any person seeking advice and Legal Aid to persons entitled to free legal aid under Section 12 of the Legal Services Authorities Act 1987. The entire staff and officials of DLSA Hoshiarpur and the LADC counsel were also in attendance. During this program, Ms Aprajita Joshi also spoke regarding the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation observed on 6th of February every year .
