 Successfully Conducted a Environment Educational Program in Hoshiarpur

The Adah Foundation, in collaboration with the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change of the Government of India, successfully conducted a Nature Awareness Camp as part of Environment Educational Program in Hoshiarpur. The camp was organised for three days and saw enthusiastic participation from the children of the Sports Department and make a step towards environmental education and conservation. Throughout this camp, participants engaged in a series of activities designed to foster a connection with nature and environment. The camp’s schedule included exhilarating hiking and trekking adventures through the Nara, Chohal, and Baroti Forests. It offered the children experiential learning opportunity of the wildlife and its inhabitants. These excursions served as a classroom to educate the young minds about various species of wild animals, trees, and plants, with imparting crucial skills. Further, the participants enjoyed a balanced program that included nutritious meals to promote the importance of health and well-being in harmony with nature. The camp also hosted activities to build environmental stewardship among the children. Highlights included a painting competition inspired by nature, capacity-building games, a documentary screening, and interactive sessions on forest and wildlife conservation, solid waste management, and more. Evenings were filled with engaging entertainment such as a DJ night, boating, and a script play to ensure a blend of learning and fun. The program culminated with a jungle safari, allowing participants to observe wildlife in their natural habitat. it further reinforce the camp’s conservation messages. Recognizing the efforts and enthusiasm of the children, the foundation awarded them eco-friendly jute bags, seed paper diaries, pens, certificates, and prizes to encourage them to continue their environmental advocacy. Feedback collected from the participants at the camp's conclusion reflected the impactful nature of the experience. To support and guide the children District Sports Officer Gurpreet Singh, Basketball Coach Amandeep Kaur, Fencing Coach Rekha, Volleyball Coach Parvinder Kaur, and Athletic Coach Sukhwinder Kaur attended the camp. This Nature Awareness Camp not only educated the children on the importance of environmental conservation but also equipped them with the knowledge and skills to act as ambassadors for sustainable living in their communities. The Adah Foundation, alongside its partners, remains committed to nurturing a generation that is well-informed, responsible, and proactive in protecting our planet.
