 13th Annual Athletics Meet-2024 organized at Rayat Bahra Education City

- ADC Rahul Chaba as chief guest, Assistant Commissioner Divya P and Major Singh SP specially participated.

- Rayat Bahra Engineering College won the overall trophy, Law College stood second.

The 13th Annual Athletics Meet-2024 was organized at Rayat Bahra Education City. In which players from all the colleges of the campus participated. On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rahul Chaba participated as the chief guest. Assistant Commissioner Divya P and SP Major Singh were also present as special guests in this athletics meet. On this occasion, Joint Campus Director of the group, Dr. Harinder Gill welcomed the guests. On this occasion, ADC Rahul Chaba, while addressing the students, said that the young generation plays an important role in building the country better. Therefore, youth should maintain distance from drugs.  Similarly, while addressing the students, SP Major Singh said that the youth should make sports a part of their lives. Sports keep a person not only physically but also mentally healthy. Therefore, definitely play some game or the other.

Before this, the players displayed the best of their art in the campus ground. In which 100-200-400-800 meter races were held. In this way, competitions like cricket, volleyball, football, tug of war, long jump, shot-put etc. were organized.

  On this occasion, world famous cyclist Balraj Chauhan and alumni and athlete Amandeep Singh were specially honored.

Rayat Bahra Engineering College won the overall trophy by securing the maximum number of medals in the competitions conducted, while Law College stood second. In the end, while giving the trophy to the winning team, Group Chairman Gurvinder Singh Bahra said that victory or defeat in sports competitions does not matter, the biggest thing is to participate in sports. He said that sports teach us to be disciplined, hence one must participate in sports.

On this occasion, Poonam was declared the best athlete-2024 among girls and Dimplepreet was declared the best athlete-2024 among boys.

In the end, Campus Director Dr. Chander Mohan thanked the guests. He congratulated the winning team and inspired the other teams to work harder and move ahead. The co-ordinators of this Athletics Meet-2024 were Dr. Meenakshi Chand and Dr. Priyanka Puri. During this, the role of stage conductor was played brilliantly by Dr. Kuldeep Walia.
