Under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann, Director General of Police, Punjab, Chandigarh Gaurav Yadav, Special Director General of Police, STF Punjab, Chandigarh Kuldeep Singh and DIG Jalandhar Range Harmanbir Singh Gill, with the aim of creating awareness against drug abuse in the state of Punjab and encouraging the children of jawans towards sports

Under the leadership of SSP Hoshiarpur Surender Lamba, District Police Hoshiarpur, finals of football, volleyball, basketball and kabaddi were organized at police station level from 24 to 26 June, at sub-division level from 26 to 27 June and at district level from 28 to 29 June. Police Line by June 2024. A total of 500 players from 42 teams took part in the final matches. In this 6-day tournament, 1000 players from 100 teams took part at police station, sub-division and district level.

On this occasion, Deputy Speaker of Punjab Assembly Jai Krishan Singh Rauri distributed prizes to the winning players and encouraged the players to participate in sports in future as well. The winning teams were given first prize of Rs. 11000, second prize of Rs. 5100 and third prize of Rs. 2100. Apart from this, football, volleyball and basketball were also distributed to other participating teams to encourage them towards sports.

Among the winning teams in the football competition, village Baddo police station Garhshankar got the first place, village Jian police station Chabewal got the second place, village Mehtiana police station Mehtiana got the third place. In the volleyball competition, Tanda police station Tanda got the first place, Mukeria police station Mukeria got the second place and Bullowal police station Bullowal got the third place. In basketball competition, Tanda Police Station Tanda secured first place, Bullowal Police Station Bullowal secured second place and Purhira Police Station Model Town secured third place. In Kabaddi competition, first place was secured by village Haibowal Police Station Garhshankar, second place by village Baghpur Police Station Haryana and third place by Dolatpur Gillan Police Station Haryana.

The purpose of organizing these games is to spread awareness against drug abuse in Hoshiarpur district, so that the young generation can be encouraged to stay away from drugs and play sports. Apart from this, the police and civil administration are also running anti-drug activities and increasing people's participation in the fight against drug abuse. Registered and unregistered sports clubs/teams of Hoshiarpur district were given an open invitation to participate in this campaign.
