 - Total 1601826 voters in 9 assembly constituencies under Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha Constituency

 - Appeal to every voter to exercise their right to vote

   A total of 1963 polling booths have been set up in Lok Sabha constituency Hoshiarpur for voters to cast their votes for the Lok Sabha elections on June 1 and all preparations have been completed at these polling booths.  During a special meeting with eminent educationist, social worker and journalist Sanjiv Kumar, Returning Officer Lok Sabha Constituency Hoshiarpur-cum-Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that all necessary facilities are available at the polling booths for voters to vote.  He said that all arrangements for drinking water, shade, toilets, wheelchairs, medical kits, chairs for sitting etc. have been completed at the polling booth.  She said that adequate security arrangements have been made at the polling booths and any voter can cast his vote without any fear.

  She said that there are a total of 1601826 voters in 9 assembly constituencies under Hoshiarpur, out of which 830840 are male, 770942 are female and 44 are voters belonging to the third gender.  A total of 1963 polling stations have been set up to ensure that every voter exercises his right to vote.  She said that Model Polling Stations, Green/Eco Friendly Polling Stations, Disability (PWD) Polling Stations, Youth Polling Stations and Women Polling Stations have also been established in each assembly constituency to encourage voters.

   She further said that now before going to their polling booth, the voters will be able to know how many people are standing in the queue to vote at their booth.  Therefore, 'Voter Q Information System' has been started.  To use this, voters have to send a message by typing 'vote' on a WhatsApp number 7447447217 and follow the instructions given below.  She appealed to the voters that in view of the hot weather, the voters should cast their vote in the morning to exercise their right to vote.  She said that the voting time will be from 7 am to 6 pm.

 He appealed to the voters and said that vote is our constitutional right and we should not be reluctant to use it.  He said that no kind of trouble will be allowed to the voters at polling stations.
