 Election process successfully completed in Hoshiarpur

- Aam Aadmi Party candidate Dr. Raj Kumar won from Lok Sabha Hoshiarpur

- Defeated Indian National Congress candidate Yamini Gomar by 44111 votes

- District Election Officer thanked the counting staff, security personnel and candidates

- Praised the responsibility shown by the media

The election process has been successfully completed in the district and today during the counting of votes Aam Aadmi Party candidate Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal emerged victorious. He defeated Indian National Congress candidate Yamini Gomar by 44111 votes. District Election Officer Komal Mittal, on behalf of General Observer Dr. R. Anand Kumar and SSP Surendra Lamba, visited Rayat-Bahra Institute and Multi Skill Development Center, where the security arrangements outside the counting centers were reviewed, and the media center was also visited. The District Election Officer said that the winner in Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha constituency was Aam Aadmi Party candidate Dr. Raj kumar Chabbewal and he got 303859 votes. She said that BJP candidate Anita Som Prakash got 199994 votes, Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Sohan Singh Thandal got 91789 votes, Indian National Congress candidate Yamini Gommer got 259748 votes, BSP candidate Ranjit Kumar got 48214 votes. She said that apart from this, Nationalist Justice Party candidate Hardeep Singh got 1425 votes, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) candidate Jaswant Singh got 20923 votes, Bahujan Dravid Party candidate Jeevan Singh Tamil got 4621 votes, Samaj Bhalai Morcha candidate Davinder Kumar Saroya got 930 votes, Global Republican Party candidate Bhimrao Yashwant Ambedkar got 1041 votes, Bahujan Mukti Party candidate Rajpal Nadali got 1140 votes, Democratic Bharatiya Samaj Party candidate Rajesh got 2336 votes, Independent candidate Satpal got 993 votes, Independent candidate Sonu Singh Phagwara got 1884 votes, Independent candidate Davinder Singh got 1617 votes, Independent candidate Rohit Kumar Tinku got 2419 votes and NOTA got 5552 votes.


Komal Mittal thanked the election staff and said that the election process was successfully completed due to the hard work and transparent discharge of responsibility by the election staff. She thanked the candidates for their cooperation. She said that the counting of votes of Assembly constituencies Hoshiarpur, Chabbewal, Urmur, Dasuya, Mukerian, Bhulath, Phagwara and Assembly Constituency was done at Rayat-Bahra Institute and counting of Assembly constituencies Sri Hargobindpur and Sham Chaurasi was done at Multi Skill Development Center Hoshiarpur.


District Election Officer Komal Mittal thanked the counting staff, security personnel and candidates and said that the counting of votes for Lok Sabha Hoshiarpur was done today at Rayat-Bahra Institute and Multi Skill Development Center Hoshiarpur in the presence of counting observers appointed by the Honorable Election Commission of India under transparent and strict security arrangements. She also praised the responsibility shown by the media. She said that to make the entire election process successful, the polling staff and different teams also played a commendable role as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India.


SSP Surinder Lamba while praising the security staff deployed on duty said that officers and employees of CAPF, State and District Police were deployed at both the counting centres and all the employees also performed their duty with utmost diligence
