International Yoga Day will be celebrated on 21st June at Police Line Ground: Rahul Chaba
- Additional Deputy Commissioner held a meeting regarding the preparations for the district level function

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rahul Chaba held a meeting with the officers in the District Administrative Complex today regarding the preparations for the district level function to be organized on the occasion of the 10th International Yoga Day. On this occasion, he informed that under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, the District Administration, in collaboration with various organizations, will celebrate International Yoga Day at the district level on 21st June at the Police Line Ground under the theme of Yoga for Self and Society. He directed all the concerned departments to fulfill the assigned responsibilities with diligence so that the function can be successfully completed. He directed the nodal officer-cum- Ayurvedic Medical Officer of the Samagam, Dr. Harish Bhatia, to personally review the preparations of the program and ensure that all the arrangements are completed on time.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that on the occasion of district level Yoga Day in the Police Line, yoga will be conducted by different trainers and information will also be given about the importance of yoga asanas. He asked the concerned departments to complete their respective preparations on time. He appealed to the social service organizations, police department, college students, youth club members, heads of group departments and yoga lovers to reach the Police Line Ground Hoshiarpur at 6 am on June 21, 2024 and participate in this district level Yoga Day in maximum numbers. He said that people participating in the Yoga Day program should wear T-shirt, kurta and lower, pajamas etc. During this, he also gave instructions to the concerned departments regarding refreshment, drinking water, cleanliness, first aid, traffic, tents, sound and other arrangements. He said that students should be encouraged for yoga and participation of students from schools and colleges should be ensured.
Earlier, on behalf of the group of officials and representatives of institutions, two minutes silence was observed remembering the services of District Ayurvedic and Unani Officer Late Naresh Mahi, who had passed away recently. On this occasion, SDM Hoshiarpur Preetinder Singh Bains, Assistant Commissioner Municipal Corporation Sandeep Tiwari, besides officials from different departments, representatives of social welfare organizations and schools and colleges were also present.
