A meeting was held on stubble management under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal with group SDMs and departments of the district in the District Administrative Complex. The main objective of the meeting is to implement the action plan for stubble management in a good manner during the year 2024 so that no incident of burning occurs in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized on mapping the different industrial units in which stubble is consumed and the farmers who collect stubble by running balers at the sub-division level to increase mutual coordination and cooperation. She asked the group industrial units of the district in which stubble is used as raw material or fuel to come forward for stubble management and contribute to this environment friendly campaign. She urged the Agriculture Department to run awareness campaigns at the village level and make maximum use of the straw management machinery received from farmers during the past years. On this occasion, the General Manager District Industries Center gave information about the targets related to the straw collected from Hoshiarpur district and its consumption in different industrial units.

The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to the farmers to take maximum benefit for straw management from the balers working in their area. On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rahul Chaba, SDM Hoshiarpur Preetinder Singh Bains, SDM Garhshankar Shivraj Singh Bal, SDM Tanda Vyom Bhardwaj, SDM Dasua Pradeep Singh Bains, besides officers of other departments were also present.
