PAU-KRISHI VIGYAN KENDRA, HOSHIARPUR ORGANIZES TRAINING PROGRAMME ON POULTRY FARMING

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bahowal, Hoshiarpur under the aegis of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana recently organized a 5 days vocational training programme on poultry farming at its premises in which 61 farmers, farm women and rural youth participated.
During this training, Dr. Parminder Singh, Associate Professor (Animal Science), KVK, Hoshiarpur gave detailed lectures and demonstrations on various topics of poultry farming including breeding and classification, hatching of chicks, rearing of chickens, housing and equipment, feeding arrangements, egg marketing, candling of egg, broiler yield and poultry diseases and their prevention.
In the concluding function, Dr. Maninder Singh Bons, Associate Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bahowal, Hoshiarpur interacted with the trainees and enlightened them about the services rendered by KVK for the betterment of the farming community and exhorted them to adopt subsidiary occupations for augmenting their income.
