On the occasion of the 44th Death Anniversary of Mohammad Rafi , Voice of India, a musical evening was organized by Bahurang Kalamanch Hoshiarpur in association with various dignitaries of the city, in which Cabinet Minister Brahm Shankar Jimpa was the Chief Guest. Lieutenant General J.S. Dhillon, Dr. M. Jamil Bali, Harjeet Singh Matharu, Advocate S.P. Rana and Alley Ramesh Kumar District Governor were the Guest of Honour. The program was conducted by Theater Artist and Director Bahurang Kalamanch Hoshiarpur. 

At the beginning of the program, after paying tributes to Mohammad Rafi, Cabinet Minister Brahm Shankar Jimpa along with Prof. Harjinder Aman, Neel Kamal, Dr. M. Jamil Bali, Advocate S.P. Rana, Dr. Harjinder Singh Oberoi and Ashok Puri lighted the lamp and thereafter along with the presentation of music students Ajay Ram, Jaswinder Singh and Aman Pal, Advocate Preet Dadwal, Prof. Sukhwinder Singh and Harish Aery of Karoke Gayan Hoshiarpur sang songs of Rafi. On this occasion, Stage Coordinator Ashok Puri said that the voice of Mohammad Rafi represents the music world of India. He made a record by singing 29000 songs in his short life span. 

Balraj Singh, Neel Kamal, Kumar Vinod and Prof. Harjinder Aman, who have now illuminated the name of Hoshiarpur in the music world, made the program Rafi-like. On this occasion, Chief Guest, Cabinet Minister Brahm Shankar Jimpa, by sparing time from his busy schedule at Chandigarh, while giving  proof of his commitment, affection and love for the Hoshiarpur said that the artists of Hoshiarpur have made their special place in the world. He said that Bahurang Kalamanch has been working for the last 35 years by keeping all the problems of the area in front and satisfying the hunger for literature and culture and he appreciates this. While people love these fearless artists, at the same time industrialists and governments should patronize them. 

While the land of Doaba is illuminating its name in country and abroad, the migrant  singers of Hoshiarpur, Prabhjot Chohan and Harvinder Rai, made their presence felt by singing the songs of Muhammad Rafi and remembering their land. On this occasion, Advocate Raghuvir Singh Terkiana paid rich tributes to Muhammad Rafi through his poems.

This report will not be complete without mentioning the contribution of A.S. Tatra, Rotarian Avtar Singh, Assistant Prof. Jaspal Singh, Varun Sharma, Dr. Narinder Singh, Madam Satish Silhi Uppal to make this event successful . Along with the Chief guest, Lieutenant General Dhillon, Harjeet Singh Matharu, Dr. M. Jamil Bali, Advocate S.P. Rana, Alley. Ramesh Kumar, Avtar Singh and singers Balraj, Neel Kamal, Kumar Vinod, Harjinder Aman, Prabhjot Chauhan and Harvindra Rai were also honoured on this occasion. Dr. Harjinder Singh Oberoi Patron Bahurang Kalamach, Director Ashok Puri and other intellectuals honoured the Chief Guest, Cabinet Minister Brahm Shankar Jimpa by presenting a Doshala and a honour emblem.
