Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal has appealed to the district residents to stay away from dams, rivers, canals, ravines and low-lying areas keeping in mind the possible flood situation caused by continuous heavy rains. She said that there is a possibility of danger due to rising water level in these areas, so for the safety of the citizens it is necessary that they stay away from these places and take precautions.

She said that due to heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, there is a lot of water in the rivers, choas and ravines passing through the district. She said that the district residents should visit Himachal Pradesh only if it is very necessary.

The Deputy Commissioner said that a control room has been set up at the district level to deal with the flood in the district, which is working 24 hours a day, seven days a week. She informed that through this control room, all flood related information can be exchanged quickly and relief will be provided to the needy people immediately. The Deputy Commissioner informed that all the SDMs of the district have been instructed to visit the flood affected areas in their respective areas and take stock of the situation. She said that in case of any kind of disaster, the district administration is ready to provide immediate assistance.

The district administration is keeping a special watch on the areas being continuously affected and every possible step will be taken to provide relief there. Komal Mittal said that the administration is working with full seriousness and promptness to provide relief material, medical services and other necessary facilities to the people affected due to rain water. He has also appealed to the people of the district to follow the instructions issued by the administration and contact the district control room in case of any emergency.
