The District and Sessions Judge visited the Central Jail

- Heard problems of prisoners 

- Canteen was also inaugurated at the Central Jail

District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Hoshiarpur Dilbagh Singh Johal visited Central Jail Hoshiarpur today. CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Raj Pal Rawal was also specially present on this occasion.

The District and Sessions Judge heard the problems of the jailed prisoners/detainees and directed the Central Jail Superintendent to resolve their problems. He also obtained information about the health of the prisoners and gave guidelines to the Central Jail Doctor Puneet regarding the regular medical checkup of the patients. He also inspected the kitchen regarding the food given to the prisoners in the jail and directed the Superintendent Central Jail to take special care of the cleanliness in the jail. He said that according to the instructions of the Central Government, regarding the implementation of the scheme to help the poor prisoners, the Superintendent of the Central Jail has instructed that under this scheme, the information about the bail order in the cases of the convicts and convicts who have passed seven days. be forwarded to the Legal Services Authority office. Along with this, they asked to post a list of names of panel advocates/legal aid counsel on the notice board outside each barrack.

On this occasion, the District and Sessions Judge also inaugurated the canteen at the Central Jail, so that the relatives visiting the prisoners/detainees do not face any problem regarding tea and water.

CJM-cum-Secretary District Legal Services Authority Raj Pal Rawal informed about free legal services to women. He checked the registers of the legal aid clinic at the Central Jail. On this occasion, Central Jail Superintendent Baljit Singh Ghuman, Deputy Superintendent Harbhajan Singh and Legal Aid Defense Council System Hoshiarpur Chief Vishal Kumar were present.
