The Mashal taken out to create awareness about 'Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan-2024' Season-3, started on the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann with the aim of creating a healthy and colorful Punjab and making the state the leading state in the country in sports, was welcomed by Cabinet Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa, MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal and Mayor Surinder Kumar along with other dignitaries and international players on reaching Hoshiarpur today. This Mashal march was sent to Jalandhar via Lajwanti Stadium, Ramgarhia Chowk, Maharana Pratap Chowk. On this occasion, Padma Shri Prem Nath Dogra, Arjun Awardee Saroj Bala, International Football Player Harmanjot Singh Khambra, Asian Medalist Pradeep Dogra, SP Manoj Thakur, SDM Sanjeev Sharma, Senior Deputy Mayor Praveen Saini, Deputy Mayor Ranjita Chaudhary, Hoshiarpur Cooperative Bank Chairman Vikram Sharma were also present. During this, while welcoming the group of sports lovers, players and coaches participating in the torch march at Lajwanti Stadium, Cabinet Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa said that 'Kheda Watan Punjab Diyan-2024' being organized for the third consecutive time by the Punjab Government led by Bhagwant Singh Mann is making an important contribution in creating a sports culture in the state. He said that the youth of the state will stay away from drugs by joining sports and Punjab will once again become Hasda-Vasada, Khedda and Rangla Punjab. He said that the state government's 'Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan' sports competitions have once again created a sports environment in the state. He said that the youth of Punjab have a lot of potential in sports, they just needed the right platform, which Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has provided through 'Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan'. He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is personally encouraging sports in the state and for the first time in Punjab, players have been given Rs 8 to 15 lakh for the preparation of sports competitions and the players who bring laurels to Punjab at the international level are being given cash prizes worth crores of rupees as well as jobs on good government posts.

said that this torch march will be successful in connecting the youth with 'Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan'. He said that in these sports competitions, sports will be organized at block, district and state level and cash prizes will also be given to the players. He motivated all the players of the district to participate in Kheda Watan Punjab Diyan. He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has raised new hopes in the youth of the state. He said that sports nurseries are being established to create a sports oriented environment in the state and so far about 1000 sports nurseries have been approved.

Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that this torch march will reach Jalandhar and Kapurthala today, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Rupnagar, S.A.S. Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib on August 25, Patiala, Malerkotla, Barnala on August 26, Faridkot, Fazilka on August 27, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Bathinda on August 28 and Mansa and Sangrur on August 29. The third season of sports will be inaugurated in Sangrur on August 29. She said that block level competitions will be organized in the district from September 3 to September 7. She said that for registration in sports competitions, a special portal Eservices.punjab.gov.in has been set up by the Punjab Government, where players can register themselves till August 28. She said that under 'Kheda Watan Punjab Diyan', sports competitions will be held at different blocks and district levels of the district, after which state level competitions will be held. Shae said that in these sports competitions, apart from Under 14, Under-17, Under-21, people of different age groups 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70 and above 70 years can participate. On this occasion, District Sports Officer Gurpreet Singh Bajwa, Assistant Director Youth Services Department Preet Kohli, Varinder Vaid, Amarjit Sharma, Ajay Rana, district officials, players, coaches and a large number of sports lovers were present.
