 Traders should take maximum benefit of OTS scheme of Punjab Government/Anil Thakur

- Chairman of Punjab Traders Commission Excise and Tax Department held a meeting with the Represented of industries and various associations of the district

Chairman of Punjab Traders Commission Excise and Tax Department Anil Thakur today organized an important meeting in the District Administrative Complex. The main objective of this meeting was to make the District Grievance Redressal, Industry and various associations aware about the OTS scheme. During this, Chairman of Backward Classes Land Development and Finance Corporation (Backfinco) Sandeep Saini, Chairperson of District Planning Committee Karamjit Kaur, Assistant Commissioner State Tax Jatinder Kaur were also present.

During the meeting, Anil Thakur gave detailed information to the traders on the benefits of OTS scheme and the process of its implementation. He appealed to the presidents and members of the group trade unions and representatives of industries to take maximum advantage of the OTS scheme launched by the Punjab government. He motivated the traders to use this scheme in the right way, so that they can solve their problems easily. On this occasion, he also heard the problems of the traders and tried to understand their concerns. The traders shared their problems, which will be considered and efforts will be made to resolve them soon.

Anil Thakur said that this meeting was organized to establish direct communication between traders and industrialists, so that they can be better aware of the government schemes and policies and get solutions to their business problems.

Assistant Commissioner State Tax Jatinder Kaur told the traders that the last date of the OTS scheme launched by the government is 16 August 2024. She also briefly told the trade associations and traders about the Mera Bill App Scheme and the revenue of the department.

District Hoshiarpur Vyapar Mandal President Gopi Chand Kapoor raised the issue of trade license during this time and said that the action being taken by the Punjab Government to give trade licenses through municipal corporations should not be implemented. In the meeting, a memorandum was also given to Chairman Anil Thakur by the Computer Association regarding reducing the slab of computer related items from 18 percent to 5 percent.

On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Excise Harpreet Singh, State Tax Officer Sandeep Kumar, Jagtar Singh, Aam Aadmi Party State Vice President Trade and Industry Harinderpal Singh, Sachin Gupta, Aam Aadmi Party Joint Secretary Charanjit Singh, Somnath Bangar, Prem Saini, besides heads and members of different trade unions of Hoshiarpur and representatives of group industries of the district were present.
