Cabinet Minister Jimpa inspired hockey players to stay away from drugs by staying connected with sports

An Show match was organized by Rana Hockey Academy with the aim of promoting the game of hockey. On this special occasion, Cabinet Minister of Punjab Bram Shankar Jimpa attended as the chief guest and gave the message to the players to stay connected with sports and stay away from drugs. He said that sports not only keep the youth physically fit, but also make them mentally strong.
Encouraging the players and organizers, the Cabinet Minister announced that the equipment required for the maintenance of the playground will be made available soon. Along with this, he also announced a grant amount of Rs 50 thousand for the maintenance of the ground.
The Cabinet Minister said that the boundary wall of the playground will be raised and the vacant space will be developed as a park. An open gym will also be set up in this park, so that this place can be made useful for the health benefits of the people. He appreciated the efforts being made by Rana Hockey Academy Chairman Ranjit Singh Rana and Secretary Sandeep Sharma to promote the game of hockey. He said that the way the academy is motivating the youth towards sports is commendable.
Bram Shankar Jimpa said that the state government is constantly working to attract the youth towards sports and more such events will be organized in future so that the youth can get better opportunities in sports.
On this occasion, Ranjit Singh Rana informed the Cabinet Minister that many children of the academy have been selected in different major hockey academies. He also demanded the availability of sports related facilities and material, which the Cabinet Minister gladly accepted.
In the
show match, there was a thrilling match between the teams of Rana Hockey Academy and Kotla Nurpur, in which the team of Kotla Nurpur won. Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were former councillor Kulwinder Singh Hundal, former bank officer Pritam Das, Kulwinder Babbu, Dilbagh Bagi, Rohit Verma, coach Vijay Kumar, Sodhi, Gurwinder Singh Ladi, Nanna, Lal Singh, Sandeep Kumar and Dimple Kumar.
