Avneet Kaur Dhaliwal, a resident of Phulewal village of district Kapurthala, told in a special conversation with senior journalist Daljeet Ajnoha that she was born in 1991 to father Malkit Singh, a retired police officer, and mother Baljinder Kaur. Along with studies, everyone in the house was also interested in sports. Therefore, she was fond of Karate since childhood. The family also supported her completely, due to which she turned her hobby into achievements with hard work and due to this she studied till MTech. During this time, she took Karate training from senior Karate coach Rajiv Walia in Kapurthala and from time to time participated in Karate anywhere and won gold medals. She is a national gold medalist. Recently, during the games held in South Africa, she won gold medal in Karate and became an international gold medalist. In future also her dream is to bring glory to the country in the same way, but she is very sad that she did not get any help from the government even though she has brought glory to her country abroad through Karate, while her educational qualification is also a proof that the government should definitely provide her some job, for which she is always striving along with her practice. The most special thing is that in her family, her younger sister and mother are also training children in Karate.
