The birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri was celebrated with great joy and reverence in Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur today. On this occasion, MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa remembered the incomparable services of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri and emphasized the need to imbibe their thoughts. He said that we should inculcate Mahatma Gandhi's message of cleanliness and Satyagraha in our lives. We can build a clean and developed India only by following the path shown by him. Lal Bahadur Shastri's simplicity and patriotism are still a source of inspiration for us.

Mayor Surinder Kumar, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Senior Deputy Mayor Praveen Saini, Deputy Mayor Ranjita Chaudhary, Joint Commissioner Sandeep Tiwari were also present during the function.

During the program, all the officers present paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. After this, the Municipal Corporation Safai Sevaks and Sewermen were given appreciation letters by the MLA and Municipal Corporation officials for their tireless hard work to make Hoshiarpur city clean and beautiful.

On this occasion, Bram Shankar Jimpa appealed to the city dwellers not to use single-use plastic and maintain the cleanliness of the city. He said that it is our moral responsibility to keep the environment around us clean and cooperate in preventing pollution.

Giving information, Commissioner Municipal Corporation said that during the program, the efforts made by various schools, colleges, and NGOs under the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation were appreciated and they were specially honored. During this, Livasa Hospital was specially honored for organizing a medical camp for the municipal corporation's sanitation workers and organizing a walkathon to promote cleanliness and fitness.

On this occasion Councillor Manjeet Kaur, Councillor Mohit Saini, Councillor Jaswant Rai, Councillor Harvinder Singh, Councillor Mukesh Kumar, Ganga Prasad, Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur Superintendent Amit Kumar, Sanitary Inspector Janak Raj, Rajesh Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, ASM Gaurav Sharma, MIS Vishesh Sharma, CF Meena Saini, Jyoti Kalia and Jaswinder Kaur were also present.
