General Observer Sanyam Aggarwal, appointed by the State Election Commission for Gram Panchayat elections, today reviewed the process of scrutiny of nomination papers in five villages of Block Hoshiarpur-1 and Block Hoshiarpur-2 along with Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal. During this, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development)-cum-Additional District Election Officer Nikas Kumar and SDM Hoshiarpur Sanjeev Sharma were also present with him.


While scrutinizing the nomination papers, Mr. Aggarwal expressed satisfaction and said that the scrutiny work is being completed within the stipulated time and as per the prescribed rules. However, he suggested to the officers that this process should be expedited further, so that the election process can proceed smoothly. He said that there should be no error in the scrutiny of nomination papers and it should be completed with complete transparency and fairness. Mr. Agarwal stressed that the nomination of every candidate should be scrutinized thoroughly so that no controversial situation arises in future.


General Observer Sanyam Agarwal today visited villages Adamwal and Ajjowal of Block Hoshiarpur-1 and Shergarh, Basi Kalan and Chauhal of Block Hoshiarpur-2. In these villages, he inspected the process of scrutiny of nomination papers and obtained information about the progress of scrutiny work from the concerned officers. During the visit, he instructed the officers and employees to strictly follow the guidelines of the Election Commission so that the electoral process remains fair and transparent.


Mr. Agarwal said that the district administration is fully prepared for the Gram Panchayat elections and all the officers engaged in the work of scrutiny of nomination papers are performing their duties with full devotion and responsibility. He expressed hope that the electoral process will be completed without any hindrance and peaceful and fair elections will be held in all the rural areas.


On this occasion, District Election Officer Komal Mittal also apprised the General Observer about the arrangements made by the district administration to conduct fair and transparent elections.
