 Mayor wishes city residents a Happy Diwali

Mayor Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur Surinder Kumar wished city residents a Happy Diwali. He said that this festival is considered a symbol of arrival of Lord Shri Ram Chander Ji in Ayodhya city after the end of his exile and liberation of 52 kings from Gwalior fort by the sixth Guru Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji.

Surinder Kumar said that on this festival of Diwali, people are celebrating the festival with great enthusiasm with their family, friends, and relatives at various places in the city. He appealed to the shopkeepers selling firecrackers to sell firecrackers only at those places which have been determined by the district administration and follow all the safety standards, especially to keep the arrangement of fire extinguishers mandatory.

He also urged the shopkeepers and hawkers to set up their shops behind the road and sell their goods only from inside the shop so that there is no obstruction in the traffic and the general public does not have to face inconvenience.

Appealing to the general public, the Mayor said that they should not burn crackers in narrow streets and take a pledge of Green Diwali. He once again extended his heartfelt wishes to all the citizens on the auspicious festival of Diwali
