What is the cause of dengue and malaria, how can we prevent it and what precautions should be taken, during a special conversation with Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Pawan Kumar on behalf of senior journalist Daljeet Ajnoha, he told that
Various activities are being organized by celebrating the "Every Friday Dengue Te Vaar" campaign as a "mega campaign" across the district. To make people aware about dengue, the "Every Friday Dengue Te Vaar" campaign was celebrated as a mega campaign across the district. In which various activities were organized. In this campaign, anti-larva teams, multi-purpose health workers, ANMs, Asha workers, breeding checkers, besides students of nursing colleges conducted door-to-door surveys and the houses where mosquito larvae were found were destroyed on the spot. During the campaign, students were made aware about the prevention of dengue by visiting various schools, colleges and other educational institutions by showing them the dengue awareness video released by the Health Minister, Punjab.
Under these activities at the district level, a video was shown to the girl students of various nursing colleges to make them aware about dengue. At the District Training Center of the Civil Surgeon Office, nursing students were given detailed information about the identification of dengue larvae, where they are born and prevention from dengue. And
The Civil Surgeon said that by taking small precautions, we can avoid diseases like dengue, malaria and chikungunya. He said that the test and treatment of dengue fever is free in all government hospitals. In case of any type of fever, only paracetamol tablets should be taken and immediate test and treatment should be done at the nearest health center.
The Civil Surgeon said that the campaign was run by 10 anti-larva teams in Hoshiarpur city with the cooperation of the SI of the corporation and the girl students of nursing colleges. Three state level teams are monitoring this campaign throughout the district. The civil surgeon said that during the survey activities, people were informed about the prevention and control of dengue because dengue cannot be prevented unless people themselves are aware of it and pay attention to the cleanliness of stagnant water sources.
