Today, in view of the by-election of Chabbewal assembly constituency, Aam Aadmi Party organized a massive rally in support of its candidate Dr. Ishank Kumar in which AAP's National Convener Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann were specially present. Addressing the public Arvind Kejriwal said that 2.5 years ago you made Aam Aadmi Party win with a historic majority in Punjab and we have worked a lot to solve all your problems. The problem of huge electricity bills has been eradicated and electricity bills have been made zero and 24 hours supply has been ensured. You people are being given better health facilities - treatment is free in Aam Aadmi Clinic, medicines are free, tests are free and along with this, improvements are being made in government hospitals and schools are being improved. Government jobs are being given without recommendation and without corruption. 45000 government jobs were given and many temporary government employees and teachers were made permanent and the rest of the contract employees will also be made permanent soon.

Kejriwal appreciated AAP MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal that he is a good honest person, but was with a wrong party, now he has come to the right place, now along with this Lok Sabha constituency, let Dr. Ishank win the assembly elections from here too so that your works can be done even better. He said that Dr. Raj is a social worker who has served the residents of his Chabbewal area a lot. There would not be a single family in which at least one member has not been treated and he treats the poor for free at his scan center.

Kejriwal appealed for votes for Dr. Ishank and said that the residents of the constituency should make Dr. Ishank win with a huge majority and it is my responsibility to get all your work done. He told that he has given his consent to fulfil the demands that have already been placed before him by Dr. Ishank for the Chabbewal area. Notable among these demands were setting up of ITI Polytechnic College and agriculture based industries, small scale industries and women related industries in Chabbewal. Water for irrigation will be provided to farmers by making special arrangement on Bist-Doab canal. Special funds will be issued for stadiums and playgrounds to encourage sports and players in Chabbewal. Along with naming the Adampur to Garhshankar road after Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, all the important roads, especially the roads going to religious places, will be made 18 feet wide.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann welcomed AAP's National Convenor Kejriwal and said that he changed the condition and direction of politics. By raising the issues of common people, he forced other parties to talk about these issues. On this occasion, Mann talked about free electricity, ending 16 toll plazas and informed about giving government jobs to the people. The Chief Minister also mentioned the new medical college and Ayurvedic college being built in Hoshiarpur as well as Mohalla clinics. He also took a dig at the BJP central government that they are arresting our leaders without any proof due to fear of Aam Aadmi Party and also mentioned the problems faced by the common people due to demonetization.

During this rally, AAP candidate Dr. Ishank Kumar remembered the young revolutionary Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh and said that inspired by his ideology, Aam Aadmi Party, that was born out of struggle, have done record breaking development work in Delhi and Punjab, which has not been done by any party till date. He said that being a youth myself, he has a special connection with the youth. Youth is the foundation of the society and that is why along with employment of youth, development related to sports will be my priority, in the last 3 months, upliftment work is being done vigorously in the stadium and sports grounds in Chabbewal with a grant amount of 2.5 crores. Dr Ishank said that MP Dr Raj Kumar has worked very hard in Chabbewal and has taken it towards higher development. Talking about roads, bridges, government degree college, he said that it will now be his responsibility to complete the work that is still pending as per the vision of Dr Raj for Chabbewal. He promised his people that along with the works announced by Arvind Kejriwal, a big government hospital like Harta-Badla with 24 hour emergency services will be built in the Kandi area of Chabbewal.
