Jagmohan Vij has once again made India proud at the
international level

India's internationally renowned Karate coach and International Referee Sensei Jagmohan Vij has once again made India proud at the international level by succeeding in the prestigious and difficult examination of Kumite referee during the referee course organised at the international level in Jeslo, Venice, Italy by the Referee Commission of the World Karate Federation. In this examination, which was conducted for 5 days before the 13th Junior and Under 21 World Karate Championship, Jagmohan Vij proved his ability in front of the expert eyes of the 10 members examination panel by performing different duties in eleven bouts as Karate judge, referee and match supervisor in the practical examination.
During this referee course, a theoretical exam was also conducted where you need to score more than 94% minimum.
Jagmohan is counted among the best referees of India। It is noteworthy that Jagmohan Vij is the first Karate coach and referee of North and Central India who has passed the referee test in the referee course organized under the aegis of the World Karate Federation. Born and brought up in Kapurthala, Punjab, Jagmohan has been imparting training Karate in Hoshiarpur for the last 36 years.
It is noteworthy that considering his talent and ability as well as his dedication towards Karate, he was selected as one of the five referees from India for this upgradation exam by the National Karate Federation of India (Karate India Organisation's committee headed by Karate India Organisation President Bharat Sharma. Under the guidance of World Karate Federation Referee Commission Chairman Javier Escalante (Sweden), Secretary Fariba Madani (USA), headed by Asian Karate Federation Referee Commission Chairman Sansai Mansour Al Sultan (Kuwait), the 8-member examination panel comprising Giuseppe Zaccaro (Italy), Ugur Kobas (Turkey), Pirkko Heinonen (Finland), Matyout Zitouni (Morocco), Guido Abdalla (Guatemala), Steven Nghia Tran (Australia), Jaber Jassim (UAE) conducted the rigorous examination of referee participants from 123 countries.
Jagmohan is the first and only Karate coach to achieve this feat not only from Punjab but also from the states of Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir etc. Apart from India, Jagmohan has a combined experience of being a judge, referee, chief referee and tournament director in more than 69 international and about 250 state and national level competitions held in Hong Kong, Philippines, America, Mexico, Singapore, Dubai, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Italy Egypt,, Nepal, France, Thailand and Turkey. He has a unique reputation for his impartial decision. And due to this quality of his, he is invited as Chief Referee or Tournament Director in different states of India. On successfully passing the upgradation test organized by World Karate Federation, Asian Karate Federation Executive Body Member and Commonwealth Karate Federation Vice President Hanshi Bharat Sharma, Karate India Organieation General Secretary Sanjeev Kumar Jangra, Referee Commission Chairman Shihan Premjit Sen, South Asian Karate Federation Referee Commission Chairperson Shaheen Shaheen Akhtar, , Sensei Haridas Govind, National Referee Commission Members Anup Dethe, Vijay Kumar Dugru, Shaji Kottaram, Vijay Kumar , WKF Judge Jitesh Nair, Amit Shah and Zakir Khan with Punjab Karate Association General Secretary Rajesh Joshi congratulated him on his great success।
