Aam Aadmi Party Supremo Arvind Kejriwal only does politics in name of farmers. In reality, Kejriwal has nothing to do with farmers' woes and he uses them only for garnering votes.  If Kejriwal actually is a pro-farmer leader, he should have gone to the house of farmer Jaswinder Singh from village Nadampur, Bhawanigarh district Sangrur, who committed suicide on Nov 5 as the poor farrmer was unable to sell his paddy produce on MSP rate.

The former Union Minister and former Punjab BJP president Vijay Sampla stated in a press statement issued here today.

He said that the Arvind Kejriwal –who used to react even on the smallest of agriculture issues – has now preferred to remain mum on the tough conditions farmers are reeling in this paddy season. At the oath taking ceremony of sarpanches of Punjab held at Ludhiana recently, Kejriwal remained mum on such a pivotal issue.

Kejriwal has turned to be stone hearted person, whom farmer suicide due to paddy not being procured on MSP, could not move. 

Sampla said that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann was responsible for forcing farmer Jaswinder Singh to commit suicide and hence a case for abetment to suicide should be registered against him.

He added that despite Rs 44000 cr sent by the center government 39 days ago for paddy procurement, Punjab government has miserably failed to ensure that each and every grain is bought. The AAP government miserably failed as it could not make arrangements for smooth paddy procurement from Oct 1 onwards. To ensure that every grain is procured from Oct 1 onwards, the government should have started making arrangements from July – August onwards. Government should have timely made arrangements for transportation, gunny bags and tarpal sheets to cover the grain in markets, arrangements for labor and transporters' contracts and agreements with the rice millers. 

BJP clarified that AAP was making false allegations that the paddy procured in the year 2023 has not been lifted from Punjab's shellers leading to paucity of space and hence the new produce cannot be stored. The reality is that wherein the paddy was stored under open sky last year, it has been milled and stored in godowns as rice and now the areas are vacant.
