The District Magistrate issued orders for various restrictions in the district
Order to maintain strict vigil at night, ban on watering or bathing cattle on the banks of ponds, banns and rivers.

District Magistrate Komal Mittal has issued various restrictive orders in the district using the powers conferred under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code, 2023. Under this, orders have been issued to the administrators of those villages to keep vigil at night to prevent incidents of looting and theft in the villages. This order has been issued to ensure the safety of people's life and property at night in the villages.
The District Magistrate has imposed a complete ban on the watering or bathing of cattle by any person in the large and small canals, Chow dam and Dhusi dam on the banks of the Beas river within the limits of Hoshiarpur district. Similarly, a complete ban has been imposed on any person stealing their cattle openly on the roads or in public places within the limits of the district.
Another order has banned the use of military uniform and olive green (military color) jeeps, motor cycles, motor vehicles within the district limits. This order will not apply to military officers. Similarly Armed Forces/Punjab Police/BSF and military colored uniforms shall not be used by unauthorized persons (adults) and sale and purchase of these uniforms to unauthorized persons is also prohibited. This order is not applicable to Armed Forces/Punjab Police/BSF/Military Officers.
Apart from this, the District Magistrate has issued an order of complete ban on the transportation of cattle in the district from 6 pm to 6 am in summer and from 5 pm to 7 am in winter. Cow pedigrees have been kept, orders have also been given to get them registered with the Animal Husbandry Department. All the above orders will remain in force till January 8, 2025.
