 Active role of all sections of society needed to eradicate drugs/ Rajiv Verma

-Important ideas for creating a drug-free society in 'Narco Coordination Centre' meeting

An important meeting of the District Level Committee under the Narco Co-ordination Centre (Narco Co.ordination Centre) mechanism was held today at the District Administrative Complex under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (JD) Rajiv Verma to review the campaign being run against drugs in the district and discuss the forward action plan. Officers from various departments including police, health and school education were also present in the meeting.

During the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that the fight against drugs requires an active role not only from the administration but from all sections of society. He said that we will have to take such steps together, which will not only prevent drugs, but also create public awareness against it. He directed the officers present to continuously review the progress of the campaign being run against drugs in their respective departments and to take more concrete steps in this direction. He instructed all the departments to work in coordination with each other. During the meeting, the officers of the police department appreciated the work done by the police department so far against drugs. He said that the district police has made continuous efforts to tighten the noose on the drug smugglers. He said that the police department is making every possible effort to break the drug network and the cooperation of the public is also very important in this. He said that all the police stations of the district have been instructed to run a public awareness campaign against drugs and involve every section of the society in it. Apart from this, the health department gave information about the status of drug-free centers and their activities. Similarly, officers of various departments gave information about the steps taken by them against drugs. On this occasion, SDM Balachaur Preetinder Singh Bains, D. S.
