District Administration celebrates International Day of Persons with Disabilities at Special School, Jahan Khelan

The District Administration celebrated International Day of Persons with Disabilities at JSS Asha Deep Welfare Society Special School, Jahan Khelan where Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal called upon the people to make joint efforts for the rights, facilities and necessary services of Divyang persons so that all possible help can be provided to the Divyang persons.

Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that it is the duty of everyone to cooperate with Divyang persons, which should be done with full compassion and sincerity. She said that the District Administration, District Social Security Office and District Red Cross Society are ready to provide necessary help to the Divyang persons from time to time and are ensuring the necessary benefits for these persons. She said that the purpose of celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities is to make maximum number of persons with disabilities aware about the welfare schemes for persons with disabilities, facilities in government offices and benefits provided by the government from time to time. He said that the district administration will continue to take such initiatives in the future so that important information can be shared.

On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Deputy Commissioner also distributed tricycles and blankets to 7 persons with disabilities. Cultural performances were presented by the disabled students of JSS Asha Deep Welfare Society Special School, Jahan Khel, Asha Kiran Pingalwara Special School, Kakkon and Bahowal School. On this occasion, District Social Security Officer Manpreet Singh, Secretary Red Cross Mangesh Sood, Child Development Project Officer Ravinder Kaur, Daya Rani, State Awardee Jarnail Singh Dhir, Kuldeep Singh, Sandeep Sharma, Atar Singh etc. were also present.
