- Meeting with the officials of the concerned departments, Republic Day will be celebrated in the Police Line

On the occasion of 76th Republic Day, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal today gave instructions to the officials of the concerned departments regarding the preparations and arrangements for the district level Republic Day to be celebrated on 26 January at the local Police Line Ground.

During the meeting held in the District Administrative Complex regarding the preparations for Republic Day, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal instructed the officials of different departments and the concerned staff to complete the necessary arrangements on time. He said that proper arrangements should be made in view of the cold weather so that school students etc. do not face any problem. She said that full attention should be paid to cleanliness and decoration on the roads and in the Police Line in different parts of the city for Republic Day. She instructed the concerned departments to prepare tableaux presenting the development works and the facilities given to the people.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the students are going to start rehearsals in the coming days, after which the full dress rehearsal has been scheduled for January 24. She instructed the police officers to make strong security arrangements. Similarly, instructions were given to ensure smooth availability of health services, fire brigade, drinking water etc. at the venue. She said that tableaux of Punjab Police, NCC, PRTC, Health Department, Education, Municipal Corporation, Agriculture Department, Markfed etc. will be included in the parade, for which the concerned departments should complete the arrangements on time. On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rahul Chaba, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Nikas Kumar, besides senior officers of civil and police administration were present.
