Farmers of villages Gandowal, Jeevan Pur and Jassowal of district Hoshiarpur gathered under the leadership of Nambardar Sahib Singh Gandowal to tell their problems through press, in which they told the representatives of print and electronic media that electricity department is installing poles in the middle of their fields, while the farmers owners of the concerned land do not know anything about this. When some farmers talked to the JE of electricity department who had come to install the poles, he said that the department has taken permission for this, while the farmers are completely unaware of this. The affected farmers told that about 4 to 5 marlas of their land will get damaged due to installation of poles. They will suffer a lot of loss and their white poplar trees will also be cut down which will cause a lot of loss to the farmers. The farmers told that on one hand the department is harassing them and on the other hand when they demanded to show the letter given by the government or the department on behalf of the farmers, the department official said that the letter is confidential and turned them away. The farmers are in a dilemma right now as to what they should do. Their pleas are not being heard anywhere. The aggrieved farmers said that from time to time the government keeps harassing the farmers and the farmers are always forced to protest and sit on dharnas to get their legitimate demands and rights. The aggrieved farmers said that if their pleas are not heard or the poles are not installed by the department at some other place, then the farmers will be forced to struggle for their rights with the help of the farmers' organizations. They were told that if the department starts installing poles on the road mentioned by them leaving their fields, then the farmers will not suffer losses. will also be saved and the expenses of the department will also be reduced. On this occasion many farmers including Lakhbir Singh, Hardeep Singh, Daljit Singh, Balwinder Singh, Balbir Singh, Harpreet Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Tarlochan Singh, Santokh Singh were present.
