 Republic Day: Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains will hoist the tricolor

Deputy Commissioner took stock of preparations and arrangements from concerned officials

Punjab School Education, Higher Education, Technical Education and Public Relations Minister Harjot Singh Bains will hoist the national flag on the occasion of 76th Republic Day to be celebrated on January 26 at the Police Line.

In view of the district level Republic Day, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal today took stock of the arrangements and preparations of the program during a meeting with officials of various departments at the District Administrative Complex here and said that all arrangements should be completed within the stipulated time. He said that rehearsals have been started by school students and employees of other departments, for which all kinds of solid arrangements should be made. He said that the full dress rehearsal will be held on January 24. He said that cleanliness and proper decoration should also be taken care of inside the city and in the police line and keeping in mind the cold weather, there should be no shortage of necessary arrangements for school students during the rehearsals.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the police officers regarding security arrangements, Municipal Corporation and other departments regarding their duties. He said that tableaux of Punjab Police, NCC, PRTC, Health Department, Education Department, Municipal Corporation, Agriculture Department, Markfed etc. will be included in the parade and various presentations based on patriotism will be given by school students. Additional Deputy Commissioner Rahul Chaba, SDM Sanjeev Sharma and officers of various departments were present on this occasion.
