Blinker lights installed on roads to prevent road accidents

Regional Transport Officer Ravinder Singh Gill said that under the National Road Safety Week 2025, as per the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, many important steps have been taken in the district to promote road safety and prevent road accidents. He said that using the Road Safety Fund, blinker lights were installed on the dividers with the aim of reducing accidents during the fog season, so that vehicles can get clear guidance at night and in fog. Apart from this, reflector strips were installed on the trees along the roadshttps://www.facebook.com/HoshiarpurDPRO/, so that the road condition can be clearly seen at night and in fog. He said that solar blinker lights were installed at T-points and squares, which will be helpful in preventing accidents in areas with low visibility.
The Regional Transport Officer said that to increase road safety awareness, more than 50 two-wheeler drivers were informed about the necessity and importance of helmets. Also, free helmets were distributed to them. He appealed to the people to follow traffic rules, ensure the use of helmets and seat belts, and also make others aware of road safety. He said that road safety is possible not only by following the rules, but also by a collective responsibility. Assistant Regional Transport Officer Sandeep Bharti and Executive Public Works Department Gurmeet Singh were also present on this occasion.
