MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa today inaugurated 79 ultra-modern street lights installed on the road leading to Gurdwara Jahara Jahur Sahib, which is the holy place of the sixth Guru Hargobind Singh Ji, located in Purhiran. These street lights have been installed at a cost of about Rs 35 lakh and have been dedicated to the residents of the area.
On this occasion, MLA Jimpa said that this road passing in front of Purhiran police post is not only used by devotees to go to Gurdwara Sahib, but people also choose this road as a shortcut to go towards Jalandhar Road. He said that the installation of street lights has greatly improved the security on this road at night. Earlier, due to lack of adequate lighting in this area, robbery and other criminal incidents used to happen, but now people are feeling more secure and confident.
MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa informed that keeping in view security and beautification, street lights have also been installed in other important areas of the city. These include roads from Naloiya Chowk, Lord Valmiki ji's statue to Tanda Road, Food Street, Sadar Thana Chowk to Food Street, and Food Street to Indoor Stadium. He said that in future, street lights will also be installed in those parts of the city where there is no lighting arrangement till now, so that the entire city can be made safe and beautiful.
MLA Jimpa said that all this has been possible due to the visionary policies of the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister, he said that his government is constantly striving to provide better basic facilities to every city and village of Punjab.
On this occasion, the people of the area thanked MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa wholeheartedly and appreciated his step. Mayor Surinder Kumar, Councillor Jaswant Rai, Councillor Manjit Kaur, Kush Sharda, Ranjit, officials of Gurdwara Managing Committee and other dignitaries were present in the programme.
