Prevention of Crime, Eradication of Drugs, and a Safe & Secure Hoshiarpur: Top Priorities of SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik

2015 batch IPS officer Sandeep Kumar Malik today formally assumed charge as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hoshiarpur, emphasizing that crime prevention, drug eradication, and stringent action against gangsters will be his top priorities.
After taking over the charge, SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik called upon the residents of Hoshiarpur to extend full cooperation to the police in making the district safe, secure, and crime-free. He highlighted the crucial role of public participation in effective policing, assuring that all inputs and information provided by citizens will be kept confidential. Strict action will be taken against criminal elements based on credible information.
Addressing key public concerns, the SSP underscored the need to resolve social issues, traffic management, and encroachments in the city through deliberations with all stakeholders.
He reiterated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and DGP Gaurav Yadav, the Punjab Police is committed to a zero-tolerance policy against drugs and organized crime. “There will be no leniency for those indulging in drug trafficking or criminal activities. Strict action will be taken against such unscrupulous elements,” he asserted. Directions have already been issued to all police officials to ensure law and order, crime control, and transparent administration.
Following his appointment, SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik chaired a high-level meeting with senior police officers, SHOs, and incharges at Police Lines, Hoshiarpur. He outlined a multi-pronged strategy focusing on crime prevention, public welfare, and effective policing.
On his arrival at the District Administrative Complex (DAC), Hoshiarpur, SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik was accorded a Guard of Honour, and senior police officials extended a warm welcome. IPS Surendra Lamba formally handed over the charge to him. Later, both officers met with Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal at her office.
