Today Screening of the film "Gold Medal Da Dahej", based on the story by Avinash Rai Khanna and directed by Ashok Puri, was held at the auditorium of Punjab University Swami Sarvanand Giri Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur. Lieutenant General J.S. Dhillon, was the Chief Guest of the function and Avinash Rai Khanna along with Prof. Satish Kumar (Director In-charge), and Dr. Brijesh Sharma (SWI) were specially present on the occasion.
Assistant Professor Shri Vinay Arora and Professor Director Dr. H.S. Bains, were the in-charge of the screening of the film "Gold Medal Da Dahej". The story revolves around a visually impaired student who excels in sports but, becomes a victim of the social evil of dowry, after marriage. Director-actor Ashok Puri has done full justice to the story in the film.
The chief guest, Lieutenant General J.S. Dhillon, honored Aditya Bakshi student of institute with a gold medal for answering the questions related to patriotism. He also congratulated Avinash Rai Khanna and director Ashok Puri for their commendable work. The students becoming emotional after the screening reflects the success of the film.
Artists Ajay Sehdev, Ramesh Kumar, Ashok Puri, and Editor Naresh S. Garg were also honored on this occasion. Director Incharge, Prof. Satish Kumar, expressed gratitude to Avinash Rai Khanna and his team for organizing the event and gave invitation for organising similar programs in the future. In this way the event concluded successfully.
